Mechanical Seal for Abrasive liquids Pumps
An abrasive liquid is one that causes greater wear to a pump either by corroding surfaces through physical force or by chemical reaction. The process industries depend on numerous pumps to perform dependably to maintain plant productivity. To do this, Abrasive Liquids Pumps are properly sealed to prevent leaks and contamination of process fluids and must be capable of handling system upsets, operating under often harsh conditions, be easy to install and provide a low cost of ownership over their useful lives. Double mechanical seals are regularly used for pumps in abrasive service, but ingress of process media can cause them to fail. Double mechanical seals should not be used in applications involving viscous media, nor are they recommended for service in pumps subject to internal cavitation.
