Mechanical Seal for Vacuum Pumps
Vacuum pumps are used for dewatering saturated resources, filtering liquid from slurries, evaporative drying or pneumatic conveying. Vacuum pumps are also used in food processing, paper making, steam turbine power and chemical manufacturing. There is risk involved while sealing the vacuum pump as vacuum decreases lubricity at the sealing edge, increasing the probability of damage in the presence of already low lubrication and high heat soak from hot bearings of the vacuum pumps. Mechanical seals in vacuum pumps are used to seal faces exposed to vacuum that can become ravenous of oil and less lubricious.
